Who’s Hands…

Who’s hands… is an award-winning piece created by the wonderful talent that is my mother, Ann Duggan, for the recent RDS National Crafts Competition in Dublin.

Who’s hands.. featured in the RDS National Craft Competition 2011

It features a magnificent vintage piece of handmade lace found in an old Victorian house next to ours when the contents was being discarded as the house was up for auction.

There were sacks upon sacks of vintage pieces including jewellery, publications, clothing, accessories and memoirs, all ready for the bin without being sieved through for memorable keepsakes or pieces to cherish.

Some items were not salvageable admittedly but some were, and amongst them was a collection of hand crocheted lace pieces. We will never know who created them as Miss Doyle passed away but they are now with someone who cherishes them and who has brought them back to life.

Congrats Mum x
